Fire in the hole - A review of the novel The Iron Cage by Amos Keppler

The Janus Clan series of novels starts off in The Defenseless as a fairly ordinary story about a seemingly all-American family. It changes slowly from that, turning into blood and strife, ghosts and shadows.

There are several images of symbolic nature in the series. There is the river, the desert, the shadow and the fire, all important throughout the series.

The Iron Cage is the tenth book. It is the last being published, but there are three more books that have already been released. This one is still an ending of sorts.

Don’t expect anything even remotely mainstream here. Some mainstream people will be scared out of their wits if they should stumble upon this book. Seekers and open-minded people and those wanting a true description of the ongoing modern inhuman society will love it.

Amos Keppler’s books can’t really be categorized, no matter how hard you try. They are far beyond any average attempt at doing that. Perhaps the entire Janus Clan series can be said to lean towards science fiction, but even that is a stretch. Each of the novels can touch anything, any genre, really.

Most of all they are both a grim and optimistic tale about the modern world and those not fitting in there.

The is about a different world in the late eighties, with both similarities and notable differences from our world. Ronald Reagan has become downright unpopular. The entire idea of neoliberalism and western establishment society have been seriously questioned by many people, not merely those walking in the Janus Clan’s tracks.

The story follows the clan of warriors and subversives at various squatted buildings across the United States, in Miami, Chicago, and eventually Las Vegas, where everything crashes and burns, exploding both literally and metaphorically. A parallel story follows Mike and Linda, as they gather their other group of subversives and warriors. Those two groups have much in common, but not everything. The differences seem bigger than the similarities.

Everyone should write about what Amos Keppler is writing about. The stories are so potent and powerful, so well describing human existence. This book is no exception in that regard.

The last four chapters taking place in Las Vegas are a pleasure to read. An event that has been hinted at in several other books is finally happening. The payoff is amazing, the final chapter impossible to give proper praise. My advice is to read all the books in the series. The long story told in thirteen books is a modern classic transcending all genres and expectations, an epic story, in the true sense of the word.

This is my first blog post in almost eight years, but the book is an event, so the occasion fits well with that.

The true problem

Racism/xenophobia in general doesn’t just hurt those subjected to it in a given society, but everyone in it, because it poisons that given society, making it a very unpleasant place to live.
Minorities and migrants get the brunt of it, of course, since they’re directly harmed by it, but many people supporting them are also attacked directly, both physically and mentally. They’re called traitors and worse by the eager racist zealots. People helping the refugees in Greece, for instance have actually received death threats.
A society dominated by such a horrible view on what humanity is supposed to be isn’t a very harmonic and pleasant society at all.
Yes, the racist/anti-migration supporters are the problem, the huge problem, not minorities, not refugees, not migrants. The very idea that foreigners bring trouble is preposterous. They bring very necessary change and spice to our lives.
I’m very happy and proud that I’m a part of a growing underbelly of society and humanity saying no to old horrors and embracing the new, exciting world of true multiculturalism.

Those in charge of a given society encourage xenophobia because it distracts people from what’s truly wrong in that society.
It’s time for us to say a big NO to both the ugly mass of xenophobes and their masters.

Civilization - the great lie

«The great lie is that it is civilization. It is not civilized. It has been literally the most bloodthirsty, brutalizing system ever imposed on this planet. That is not civilization. That’s the great lie, that it represents civilization.
Or if it truly represents civilization and that’s truly what civilization is, than the great lie is that civilization is good for us». John Trudell

Why atheists celebrate Christmas

I asked the question five years ago. I didn't really get an answer then and I haven't really got an answer since.
The closest I've come to getting it can basically be summed up in one sentence: «It belongs to everyone».
As if it’s a good thing.
It is really true. You get most disappointed by people you think should know better. Atheists celebrating Christmas are nothing but apologists for the greed and fanaticism of capitalism and Christianity.
It’s very important to expose events like Christmas for what they truly are and not give in, and join in on the deception, and thereby supporting it.
Whether you call it Christmas or Xmas is totally irrelevant.
If you want to celebrate any official or semi-official day these days or nights celebrate the Winter Solstice and do so at December 21.

I am a Palestinian

  «Ich bin ein Palestiner».
In case you’re wondering: that’s me, paraphrasing John Fitzgerald Kennedy…

Israel’s ongoing attack on and disintegration of Palestine is in truth an attack on us all, our very humanity. I feel enraged and dirty and all extremes of human emotion while I experience this from afar, through alternative, independent media. It’s like watching the colonization of what is now called America as it happens. That, too, was a fairly slow, ongoing process, with its many massacres at uneven intervals. All US governments and its establishment eagerly aided the process, just like in Israel.
Shame on you if you think this is wrong or exaggerated. Facts speak like blood every single day and night in Palestine, in the suffering and death of an entire people, including its children, tortured and imprisoned and killed by uncaring Israeli soldiers, men and women obviously enjoying what they do.
Zionist colonization of Palestine was a well-crafted plan, and is more than hundred years’ old. It was a bad thing from the start and has turned from bad to worse since then.

Property is theft

Period! Possession is nine tenth of the law. The law is made by the rich and powerful in order to benefit the rich and the powerful, against those with little or nothing. All rich men/women have walked over dead bodies to get where they are. The rich has not worked to get where they are. Their workers/slaves have done that for them. If the rich should give to charity it isn't admirable at all. The money isn't theirs to give. They have stolen it from the rest of us.
That should pretty much cover it.

The ongoing struggle

On Haymarket November 11, 1887 four anarchists were executed after being convicted on triumphed up charges. One of them Albert Parsons proclaimed in his closing speech at his trial - «Your ballot – what is it good for? Can a man vote himself bread, or clothes, or shelter, or work? In what does American wage-slaves' freedom consist? The poor are the slaves of the rich everywhere. The ballot is neither a protection against hunger nor against the bullets of the military. Bread is freedom; freedom bread. The ballot is no protection against the bullets of those who are practicing the street-riot drills in Chicago. The ballot is worthless to the industrial slave under these conditions. The palaces of the rich overshadow the homes or huts of the poor, and we say with Victor Hugo, that the paradise of the rich is made out of the hells of the poor. The whole force of the organized power of the government is thrown against the workers, whom the so-called better class denominate a mob».

My experience with protests and cops

I have been an activist for more than twenty years, in Denmark and all over the world. I've been shot at, had my bones broken by experts (and their clubs) and generally speaking experienced everything there is to experience in the hands of the tyrants’ bullies.
The crackdown on protesters may happen in a number of ways. We are usually victims of hard surveillance and harassment between engagements and often imprisoned before the protests even begin.
During the protests they confront us in vast numbers, often numbers exceeding ours. What usually happens is that they charge us, on horses, with their dogs and clubs. This is when they don’t care if people witness their brutality or not. They just beat up on us with everything they have, and then they arrest us. If they don’t attack outright they use officers in civilian clothing in order to better pick us up and arrest us one on one. I have been shot at several times. I haven’t been hit, but several fellow protesters close to me have been.
There is no need for them to bother with people’s reactions to their brutality, of course, since most people buy their rather outrageous explanations wholesale without the slightest truly critical thought. Most people are constantly lapping up all the important lies and deceit coming from those in charge and their eager servants and bullies.
After the arrest we may sit on a given sidewalk for hours, no matter the weather or the temperature. We always make sure to put on warm clothes, even in the summer, but sometimes, under various pretexts they strip us and force us to sit there almost nude. If it is major protest (or not), during one of those G8 meetings, for instance they usually take us to a cold, dark place with provisional cells and make us stay there for days. And you can just forget about legal representation.
After they let us out, usually without charging us with anything they step up the surveillance and harassment.
  It never actually stops.
I have had my bones broken, suffered invasive hands in my private parts (my cunt) and tried several times to take it all to court. In vain, of course.
The police are not there to protect us or our rights, that's for sure.
This as a brief summary. Click on the links for details.
Those in charge play this cat and mouse game with us they call democracy. Don’t be foolish enough to believe there is any honesty there, except each time they break your bones, terrorize you or shoot you.
  That is their honesty.

Very true statements exposing US & Obama hypocrisy and war crimes

Obama called "war criminal" & "hypocrite of the century" in Irish parliament. Both very true statements.

"Don't come lecturing us about liberty. You need a reality check. Don't act like a spoiled rude child. Here you will only find dignity and sovereignty. Here we haven't invaded anyone. Here we don't torture like in Guantanamo. Here we don't have drones killing alleged terrorist without any due trial, killing also the women and children of those supposed terrorists. So don't come lecturing us about life, law, dignity, or liberty. You don't have the moral right to do so." - Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador

Three countries of horror

I was born in canada, am a norwegian citizen and live in denmark. All three countries have soldiers in Afghanistan and it DISGUSTS me. There is no true justification for having soldiers there and the many attempts at justification are nothing but sickening propaganda. Like the invasion itself, it is an aggressive, brutal act typical of NATO. And we should definitely not hold a public funeral every time a mass murderer returns home in a casket.

Behind the illusion

There are many ongoing propaganda campaigns, many elaborate deceptions that have become so successful that they have replaced obvious truths in the public’s mind, that have done so to such a degree that to even suggest that it is lies put forth by a smooth propaganda machine is seen as hearsay.
Western people’s acceptance of the ongoing Zionist atrocities in Palestine is one.
The image of the United States as a benevolent democracy is clearly another, perhaps the worst and certainly the most devastating.
A good number three is the flawless image of Tibet before the Chinese intervention in 1951.
I get increasingly irritated every time I see yet another quaint quote from the so called Dalai Lama. He can go almost anywhere and be viewed as a sort of second coming. Liberals perceiving themselves as intelligent people have become his eager court, spreading his deception wherever he goes. They gorge on his every word and don’t even attempt to look at him with critical eyes, are not even close at seeing through his charade and hypocrisy.
Checking of the facts reveals a completely different story.
Tibet before 1951 was a brutal and oppressive hierarchy ruled by a sadistic Buddhist priesthood. Ordinary people had little or no say in their own lives and were practically slaves to the priests. The Dalai Lama of the time was akin to a king with absolute authority, one which every word was law. The ruling elite subjected ninety percent of the population to horrible atrocities beggaring description. Torture, dismemberment, gouging out eyes, people being skinned alive, rapes and worse were the order of the day.
The Chinese can hardly be called benevolent either, in any way, but they are minor bullies compared to the tyranny they replaced. They elevated the common man in Tibet and ended or at least attempted to end centuries of inequality, a feudal society making those in Europe and Japan during the middle ages seem like heavens in comparison.
The Western anti-Chinese, anti-communist information flow after 1951 erased all that, in one of the most successful propaganda campaigns ever. The cruel priests and their brutal enforcers became victims of the «inhuman Chinese military» in the skewed western coverage. Every time the priests attempt to reclaim their authority, and the Chinese stops them from doing so is presented in western media as yet another brutal strike at liberty and democracy. Once again representatives for those in charge twist the truth to suit their purposes. Western countries have a long history of supporting tyranny and this is definitely one of those many times. Countless private and public western organizations work tirelessly to collect funds and to reinstate the brutal theocracy in Tibet, the Tibetan exiles, including the current «Dalai Lama», with contributions from the CIA, among others, enjoying a lavish lifestyle, one deliberately hidden from public view.
He has supported all recent US-led invasions in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere. The propaganda has made him out to be a champion of non-violence, a modern Gandhi, but he is nothing of the sort. It’s all just more smoke and mirrors.
Anyone with a truly open mind doing basic research on this will see the concealed truth appear. As is often the case: Facts aren't erased, only hidden from casual curiosity and easily reclaimed by a truly inquisitive mind. Only those mired in dogmatism and brainwashed by established media will fail to see it.
I knew it was bad, but I didn't realize how bad it actually was. We all tend to be surprised faced with forces of oppression, with people «growing» only when they can rule and brutalize others.
Buddhism is often presented as the benign religion, or as proof that religion can be benign, for some reason, but it is clear that it isn't any better than the others, all the others.
The biggest propaganda coup ever, of course is the perception of religion as benevolent, while it is clearly the most malevolent and vile force on the face of the Earth.

Now

It is time for us all to stop paying, stop paying altogether for watching movies, listening to music and reading books from established publishers/production companies and buying software from greedy companies and watching mainstream television. In case you’re blind and deaf and stupid and haven’t noticed they use their vast income to further subjugate us all in ever more oppressive ways.
Many people can’t afford it anyway, and are thus closed off from yet another aspect of the modern community. I decided early on that I wouldn't stand for it and have used tons of pirated software. I haven’t paid for music and films for ten years. And yes, I want all of you to join me in this.
The big companies’ claim that they are the defenders of intellectual property is laughable and people believing them are idiots. Another, not much talked about aspect of what’s currently happening is that those selfsame big companies attempt to acquire all rights to everything, from medical papers to dead artists. Their true, insidious plan is to control all information, making all content theirs and thus manage us even more than they do already.
The branch organizations, such as MPAA are among the worst terror organizations on the planet. Well aided by the all the politicians they pay off, they make ever more draconian laws and must be stopped.
Fascism, the intimate cooperation between politicians/government and the corporations has been a reality for a very long time, and is one of the worst aspects of modern existence.
The corporate domination will cease when we stop buying what they are selling, all that they are selling.

Orwell Day

It is that day again, when we celebrate a writer or human being long dead, doing so by pulling his fangs and claws, ignoring anything that made him or her dangerous.
This is nothing new, but an «honored» tradition. By praising once dangerous people those in charge create the impression that their harsh words about those in charge are no longer an issue.
What totally «amazes» me is how little people have absorbed of Orwell's warnings and words. They've practically ignored him and them and are doing so today as well, strange as that may sound to you.
It certainly seems very strange to me, making me shake my head in disbelief and contempt.
Everybody should easily be able to see that all his dystopian predictions and more have come true, but they don’t. They keep closing their eyes for the obvious, for unpleasant truths.
Many «leaders», like Tony Blair have used 1984 as an instruction manual, and people keep lapping up their sweet words.
New, oppressive legislation is constantly introduced and reintroduced. If one law is repealed or the protests grow so intense that they need to shelve it, they rewrite it a few years later and then people accept it. The overall picture doesn't change. The overall picture is clear. Tyranny is winning on all fronts.
Keep people in a state of perpetual poverty and war, and they will believe anything you say, endure any indignity you visit upon them. Surveillance is so pervasive today that Orwell and his present would have shaken in horror. Most people are actually supporting it. They buy the bullshit excuses for its existence wholesale. They believe it’s good for them, for their brainwashed and rinsed self.
Tyranny praises Orwell and Huxley and Bradbury and bunch, and laugh itself silly while doing so, looking with growing contempt at its easily deceived subjects.
Orwell should be honored, should be praised, but ignoring his words and life doesn’t do that, in case you’re wondering.
Putting him or anybody on a pedestal is dishonoring him, dishonoring anybody that has ever spoken out against injustice and oppression and created great art.

Distance and scorn

Gloria de Piero, a former journalist, and now MP for the Labour Party in the United Kingdom wondered why people just don’t like her, don’t like politicians in general, and according to herself set out to investigate why.
She found at least part of the obvious answer: People feel strongly and accurately that most politicians just don’t have any idea of how most people live and what their concerns and problems are, thus their solutions and voting are doomed to be flawed.
  And it is, by far.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. All the dominant parties in the UK, like most dominant parties most places have various policies hostile to all life. They are the abject enemy of justice, equality and anything smacking of creating the good life for anyone, except for themselves and their peers.
Gloria is a member of the Labour Party, one faction of the power hungry very eager to implement totalitarian laws and practices. Tony Blair and those in his circle virtually set a record there. The current government is better in some ways, worse in others. None of the two factions offers or is interested in offering any true solutions to the woes of mankind.
People should hate politicians. They are, generally speaking indifferent power-grabbers enjoying their wealth and position for all it is worth, serving a corrupt system constantly stepping on the poor and not so well off.
It isn't just politicians that are deliberately distancing themselves from most people, but journalists as well and most people part of the established order, so she is at least twice wrong. She lied and reported lies for years for the establishment she serves, and now she has taken a step up from there.
I see her entire campaign of «curiosity» described in the Guardian article as just one more attempt at deception and diversion.

The ruse of elections

Some friends of mine, both US citizens and not take comfort in demographics showing that the age of old, white men are over in US politics, but they shouldn't, really. Whether that’s true or not is rather unimportant because elections are ultimately unimportant. They are a ruse, designed by those in power to draw attention away from the real issues.
Both main candidates this year, like all other years were/are stooges of those white, old men and other wealthy and powerful people ruling by proxy in today’s world.
Anybody looking at Obama and seeing something different isn’t only blind but dangerously deluded.
I shrug over Obama’s victory, like I would have shrugged over Romney’s. The tyranny lives on.
For every Obama-supporter approaching me bragging about his "accomplishments" I just want to say: «You're kidding, right»?
People need to free themselves from the stranglehold of government and corporations, religion, nationalism and capitalism, from the system’s propaganda and start making their own decisions independently of the massive tyranny we all suffer.

Exposed - Australian branch

Australia's Roman Catholic Church has confirmed 620 children have been sexually abused by its priests since the 1930s in the state of Victoria. Campaigners, however, put the figure at 10,000 between 1960s to the 1980s only.
The Catholic Church of Victoria's admission came in a submission to a state parliamentary inquiry into the handling of child abuse cases by religious and other organisations after suicides of dozens of people abused by clergy, ABC reported Sunday.
Most of the abuse cases took place between the 1960s and the 1980s, with another 45 cases being investigated. Campaigners, however, say the real figure could be up to 10,000 victims in Victoria alone.
In the submission, the Catholic Church said it committed to fully cooperate with the inquiry and to not "disguising, diminishing or avoiding the actions of those who have betrayed a sacred trust".
Father Shane Mackinlay of the Ballarat Diocese admitted the church had its "head in the sand" for a long time.
He added that there had been a history of resistance to face the truth about "shocking abuse" that happened within the church, both by the clergy and in the wider community.
Child abuse by Roman Catholic priests has been a top issue in Australia in recent years.
During his visit to Australia in July 2008, Pope Benedict XVI made a public apology for the abuse.

Exposed

The last few years the Catholic Church has been exposed, more than ever, for its inhuman acts.
They have been exposed beyond doubt and their otherwise slick ability to explain everything and make it Go Away.
The last decade or so there has been a row of exposures, all over the world, about priests abusing children and the church covering it up, practically administering it, moving abusing priests from congregation to congregation, repeating the cycle countless times. It’s pretty clear that the practice finally being exposed, in more and more depth goes back centuries.
And this is only the public figures. All experience in abuse cases tells us that the number of unrecorded victims is far higher, that there will always be many keeping quiet about their suffering, for many reasons, also because fear of retaliation from the abusers. And here unusually many cases of threats have been exposed.
The official figures have been called «grossly underestimated» and I certainly agree with that.
It took a long time to get any kind of admittance of guilt or apology from church officials, both at lower and at higher levels and very few have even been charged with anything, anywhere. Rather the opposite has happened. There has been a backlash against those taking it public, both the victims and their supporters.
So, what happens when a horror like this sees the light of day and an institution like this is yet again exposed as the thoroughly rotten apple of abuse and oppression it is?
The Catholics are basically banding together, joining forces, against those fighting for at least a semblance of justice. There is very little criticism against the church and its officials, hardly more than half measures and low rumbles. The pope has emerged practically unscathed from all of it. The Church? It has on the contrary been more active than before, in its zeal on fighting against the use of prevention and equality. Most Catholics are angry, but not at the priests, not at those higher up covering up the abuse, but at those «shaming them».
That makes them pretty much accomplishes, in my eyes.
It isn’t really anything new that either. Atrocities done in the service of the church and religion as a whole come to light all the time.
But this is clearly yet another step up when it comes to such blind following of a given religion.
It beggars belief, but such is the case, a case not only exposing the inner workings of the world’s largest organization, but exposing its members even more than before as nothing but mindless and dangerous sheep as well.
The Catholic Church should be shut down, pronto! Its vast fortune should be seized and used for the good of mankind, instead of against it, like it is now. There is no other sane conclusion here.
It should finally be clear to everybody that this isn’t an exception but the rule.
The Catholic Church has always done harm, always been detrimental to human health and freedom, but now it is clear that  it is even worse than we thought.

The absurd and ridiculous

Why do supporters of the official JFK story or official 911 or any other major conspiracy always say "why hasn't anyone talked"?

I mean, if you read about the JFK assassination there are all kinds of people who have "talked" about evidence being ignored, or covered up, witnesses being told to change their stories, the WR whitewash, etc.

I mean, books and books and books have been written on all the lies and cover ups concerning the JFK case and they are full of reliable upstanding people saying these things.

So why do you people who defend the official story say "why hasn't anyone talked"? That's absurd. Hell, Howard Hunt made a confession a few years ago. For years he denied being in Dallas despite the fact that he was there, then he finally admits he was there and was involved in the "Big Event" and yet you people still say "why hasn't anyone came out"?

Oswald was killed before he could talk or his confession wasn't recorded, or he wasn't involved at all, except being the patsy.

The trigger men sure as hell isn't going to come out and say...."Hi, by the way... we killed JFK and set Oswald up to take the fall".

It's absurd.

To me and every other sane person it's obvious that the Military-Industrial Complex was behind it. It was powerful before the assassination and has grown beyond all sane proportions afterwards.

Jesus has never existed

There have always been those opposing the lies of the so called Jesus Christ, both concerning his origin and his very existence, both as a man and a god.

Right from the very start, the very creation of the prevailing myths, people have exposed the lies. Those sharing what was then the present with the first Christians could easily expose it for the fairy tale it was, since everyone or at least a lot of people then knew them to be right. They exposed it as bullshit, what everybody should do today as well, when it has long since become such dangerous and insane bullshit.

I’ve had the pleasure of reading Archaya S and others’ writings on this for years. They expose claim by claim Christianity’s most fundamental lies.

There is no proof what so ever that Jesus has existed, in any form. On the contrary it becomes ever clearer that the Christians invented him. One of the church fathers, Eusebius of Caesarea is even bragging about it in his books.

«We shall introduce into this history in general only those events which may be useful first to ourselves and afterwards to posterity.»

Eusebius of Caesarea - church father of Nicaea 325 - Ecclesiastical History (Vol. 8, chapter 2).

«How it may be Lawful and Fitting to use Falsehood as a Medicine, and for the Benefit of those who Want to be Deceived»

Eusebius of Caesarea - church father of Nicaea 325 - Praeparatio Evangelica (title book 12, chapter 32).

These are merely a few of the «highlights» in his writings.

The early Christians picked and chose between ancient pagan legends and myths in which they created their savior to deceive the world. They didn’t emulate one particular story but a little from many of them, from the story of Zeus, Mitra, Buddha and Horus, to mention a few.

Non-Christian historians living in the first few centuries after the professed crucifixion don’t mention Jesus or Christ with a single word. Either the word Christ (or Christos) means something completely different where they used it, or historical documents were quite simply changed and forged by later Christians. The entire so called Testimonium Flavianum presumably from the writings of Josephus, a Jewish general and historian is probably Eusebius’ doing, his insertion.

Thinkers and researchers like Archaya S and the rest have studied the material thoroughly, and with far more critical eyes than officially sanctioned scientists. Doing elementary cross-checking and true scientific methods they have pieced together a picture quite different from the accepted story, exposing established scientific circles for the deceivers they are.

Because the fallacy continues today. The Christians and their apologist supporters have the power and decide what should be held as truth. The established scientific circles work with something they call the «zero hypothesis», which is basically what is currently seen as the most probable «truth». Then they defend that against any alternatives, and have the gall to claim that they are seeking the truth and nothing but the truth. Two thousand years after everything started the hustlers have convinced almost the entire world, with disastrous results. Fortunately there are those that won’t be fooled, people seeing religion for what it is: opium for the people and a pox on mankind.
