No, it’s not a happy Earth Day

The reasons for this are obvious: there are no signs of improvement. On the contrary, the forces of destruction are waxing, not waning. The forces of life are waning, not waxing.
We, humanity must stop seeking solutions to the many problems we face within the parameters of current mainstream society. It should be self-evident to everybody interested by now that such solutions are making everything go from bad to worse and causing true solutions to be ever farther away from being implemented.
Those in charge, content in their position at the top of the pyramid don’t want solutions. They are happy to force-feed us useless pseudo-solutions and illusions of grandeur.
You don’t look for technological solutions, don’t pretend that what will make everything worse will make everything better. Advanced technology and closing our eyes for its horrors and dangers brought us where we are today.
We must open our eyes, not fervently keeping them closed.
Civilization must be abandoned, not further «developed». The wholesale destruction brought on by civilization must stop, must stop now.

Now

It is time for us all to stop paying, stop paying altogether for watching movies, listening to music and reading books from established publishers/production companies and buying software from greedy companies and watching mainstream television. In case you’re blind and deaf and stupid and haven’t noticed they use their vast income to further subjugate us all in ever more oppressive ways.
Many people can’t afford it anyway, and are thus closed off from yet another aspect of the modern community. I decided early on that I wouldn't stand for it and have used tons of pirated software. I haven’t paid for music and films for ten years. And yes, I want all of you to join me in this.
The big companies’ claim that they are the defenders of intellectual property is laughable and people believing them are idiots. Another, not much talked about aspect of what’s currently happening is that those selfsame big companies attempt to acquire all rights to everything, from medical papers to dead artists. Their true, insidious plan is to control all information, making all content theirs and thus manage us even more than they do already.
The branch organizations, such as MPAA are among the worst terror organizations on the planet. Well aided by the all the politicians they pay off, they make ever more draconian laws and must be stopped.
Fascism, the intimate cooperation between politicians/government and the corporations has been a reality for a very long time, and is one of the worst aspects of modern existence.
The corporate domination will cease when we stop buying what they are selling, all that they are selling.

A great use of furniture

We have a large fireplace in our house, one very pleasant during autumn and early spring, but still a stark necessity during winter. There is no way we can afford to buy wood, so we burn furniture. Not our own, mind you, at least not if we don’t have to. We find it in all kinds of places, both at traditional garbage disposal points and in more untraditional places around town. The streets of Copenhagen, like in most modern cities are strangely abandoned during nighttime, so we can pretty much do what we want as long as we don’t do any obvious breaking and entering. We obtain furniture and we do it for free. It is great exercise, and the rewards are great, in the form of a beyond pleasant heated combined living room and bedroom. We mostly use more distant parts of the house as storage facilities and fridge during winter.
  It works!

The ruse of elections

Some friends of mine, both US citizens and not take comfort in demographics showing that the age of old, white men are over in US politics, but they shouldn't, really. Whether that’s true or not is rather unimportant because elections are ultimately unimportant. They are a ruse, designed by those in power to draw attention away from the real issues.
Both main candidates this year, like all other years were/are stooges of those white, old men and other wealthy and powerful people ruling by proxy in today’s world.
Anybody looking at Obama and seeing something different isn’t only blind but dangerously deluded.
I shrug over Obama’s victory, like I would have shrugged over Romney’s. The tyranny lives on.
For every Obama-supporter approaching me bragging about his "accomplishments" I just want to say: «You're kidding, right»?
People need to free themselves from the stranglehold of government and corporations, religion, nationalism and capitalism, from the system’s propaganda and start making their own decisions independently of the massive tyranny we all suffer.

My thoughts on the novel Dreams Belong to the Night by Amos Keppler

This isn’t really a review, as it isn’t detailed enough for that, but more like a burst of excitement.

It’s a great, engaging story. You can hardly put the book down until you’ve read every single word.

Added to that is this:

It’s a story of extreme awareness, for everyone that has ever taken part in protests and have had their skull bashed in by the police. If you are anything like me, if you have suffered years and years of frustration in an effort to achieve true and powerful change in society this is the book for you.

I feel like a part of the story. It speaks to me. I can relate to the characters and to their situation, and the burning in their gut driving them forward.

To those protesting in the UK, United States, Cairo and every other place these days: you should really read the book, to find a focus for your justified anger and rage. I know I have.

Keppler doesn’t just write about ongoing rebellion, but the history of rebellion as well. This is even more precious since those in charge of the current tyrannical society do their best to eradicate all radical information, all critical thought and belief.

This story isn’t just about rebellion. It is rebellion.

We sat around the bonfire at night, not far from what is usually busy city streets and read from the book. I tell you, it was an event, so powerful and engaging.

I feel, in a strange way that the story truly speaks to me and my situation, and not just because the story is set in Copenhagen and Northern Europe and is about politically aware people there.

It speaks to the core of all humans, striving to break free.

Review of «the Defenseless» by Amos Keppler

This is one of the few reviews I’ve written, one of the few I’ll ever write.

Most of my few reviews I do because they’re worth it, and this is worth it beyond my ability to describe.

It… grabs you from the very first sentence and never let go. It grabs you harder, and painfully so, as the story progresses.

It’s about growing up in today’s brutal and beyond destructive society, about alienation, the beyond powerful desire for freedom and everything in one, boiling package.

I can guarantee you one thing: you’ve never read anything even remotely similar before.

If the reader’s eyes are closed they’re forced open quite fast. If he or she has any illusions of the world, they’re quickly deprived of such.

We follow three siblings and their friends through adolescence in a typical American suburb, but it could be virtually anywhere in the modern Western world. The stench of the blood flowing from open wounds is impossible to ignore. This isn’t a book for small children. Thank the Goddess!

I had the pleasure of reading it the first time several years ago. It only gets better the second time around.

Amos is a self-publishing author, and they’re the best kind, almost the only kind in today’s inhuman world worth reading.

We get honesty from that kind of author, that kind of artist. In this story it’s pervasive beyond belief. This is the world in all its horror and «glory». Be welcome to it.

No human being calling himself or herself radical should miss this book. No one should, period. Everybody should read it, and perhaps learn something crucial about the world they live in, about themselves, and be forever changed.

It is that explosive, that powerful, so filled with substance and fire.

And the best news of all: This is just the first of 12 - twelve - novels from Amos’ hand that will be published during the next three years.

Look out, society and tremble at your rotten core.

The language of oppression

Ways to dissuade children’s interest in science, technology, engineering and math

There are several children in our squatted house. Some of them have also reached the time where they would start school if they were a part of established society, and we also have teenagers. We keep them away as much as we can from that, of course, not letting that society teach them its language, the language of the oppressor.

That language is many things.

Children are taught greed from an early age. They learn how to place value on things, on trinkets and baubles. But most of all they learn a language alienating them, both from their own instincts and from nature, from Earth and life on it.

That language is science. Science has long since become the new religion, and among its many bad qualities is the fact that it teaches that the world and life on it is a Petri dish, one where an aloof humanity may poke and hurt any creature, including other humans for the sake of «knowledge», money and power.

We, the adults of the squatted house, being quite the resourceful bunch in many ways teach them differently, teach them about ancient humanity, about the value of life and unspoiled nature, how we hardly had any footprints then, and how we for countless generations left the Earth pretty much as it was when we were born. We tell them about the language of the oppressor, of civilization, but we certainly don’t teach it.

Civilization is many things, also about the insane need to build, to construct and destroy. We teach unschooling, deconstruction, independence and a diversity that is very far from the narrow chinks of civilization. Advanced technology is uncool, we tell them. Civilization is a Machine, forming all humans in its own image. We tell them how to avoid the pitfalls during adolescence, how to avoid being drawn into the maelstrom of society, how not to be dumbed down by a system of government doing its best to educate people to dependency and stupidity. They know, from an early age that science and advanced technology, engineering and math are inherently bad for us all, a part of an artificial construct destroying everything making life worth living.

We instruct them in ways to recognize the signs of brainwashing in the other children they interact with, an interaction we encourage, and give them feedback, in turn teach them the alternative to civilization, something that has yielded quite remarkable results. Other people’s children are visibly happier among us than they are among their own parents.

Civilization is a construct, we tell them, a Machine, and the Machine wants everybody to be its servants, its wheels within wheels. Science is about taking a tiny piece of reality and present it as all of it, a lie, a deception of the worst order. Building and expanding cities, constructing giant buildings of concrete, metal, glass and plastic is killing us all. Studying the language of death isn’t a noble pursuit. Rebelling against the Machine and all its works is.

Tyranny isn’t really about letting uniformed thugs loose on protesters, isn’t about making ever more oppressive laws. That is just the end product, the final touch when everything else is already in place. The main token of a successful tyranny is its language, something integrated into society’s foundation. Children today are tricked, more or less forced to give up a piece of themselves, one piece at the time. By the time they reach adulthood there is very little left of their humanity, and they are fooled into policing themselves, making the magistrates’ job fairly easy, a mere formality. It is practically a miracle if any of us, living today reach adulthood with any true cognitive thought left. The language of civilization shunts nature and all reality outside human perception and builds an ivory tower where almost all of us reside.

We simply teach children about the vast reality outside the tiny construct, that’s all, teach them how insignificant the construct truly is, and how glorious is the Universe outside the construct’s bubble.
